                   by DEMART

Michel Demart  was born in Brussels in 1950. He moved to Luxembourg in 1977 where he was quickly noticed by the public and critics for his watercolor works in a figurative style, full of poetry which  gradually moved towards surrealism. In his first period the watercolors paintings were directly inspired by observations but his more recent work is based on themes and ideas using pure imagination in a contemplative metaphysical language. He made the original images for the Commune of Clervaux, the Soloists Europeans, the Festival of Wiltz, the International Guitar Festival, the Letzebuerger Kannerduerf and the Post Office, where it will create the Christmas stamps 1999, 2003 and 2006.  He designed greeting cards for editions Deutsch (Germany) and ABC (Switzerland).  In 1999, he was invited to participate in the retrospective exhibition on the figure of Till Eulenspiegel "De wereld op zijn kop" organized by the town of Damme in Flanders. In 2011 appeared the monograph "Leak Point", prefaced by Georges Remi Jr.
